About the position

Peraton is seeking Network Engineers to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3 EOM, located onsite in Ft. Liberty, North Carolina. This role is critical in providing Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to USSOCOM, its Component Commands, Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and deployed forces. The Network Engineer will be responsible for maintaining Network Operations (NetOps), systems and network infrastructure, and providing end-user support. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with in-depth knowledge of networking hardware and software, as well as extensive experience in network design, implementation, LAN/WAN interfacing, security, Internet protocols, and TCP/IP. The Network Engineer will perform Tier three network support under the direction of the Sr. Network Engineer, ensuring compliance with the SIE OPORD. Responsibilities include testing and analyzing network facilities, monitoring and controlling network performance, and diagnosing complex problems affecting network performance. The Engineer will also provide guidance to junior network support technicians and will be involved in comprehensive systems and network engineering and architectural planning services. This includes interfacing with O&M personnel, reviewing existing architectures, and recommending improvements. Additionally, the role involves establishing systems engineering with a focus on end-to-end functionality, managing database structures, and providing expertise in SANs, NAS, iSCSI, and DAS technologies. The Network Engineer will also support cybersecurity efforts, maintain LAN, WAN, and VoIP infrastructures, and work with vendors and technical staff on network implementation and optimization. Some positions may require shift work or a non-standard work schedule to support the USSOCOM mission.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive systems and network engineering and architectural planning services.
  • Interface with O&M personnel by providing strategic design and support to projects as directed.
  • Review existing architectures regularly, recommending and assisting with the design and implementation of systems and network improvements.
  • Establish systems engineering with a focus on end-to-end functionality of complex systems.
  • Establish service integration, database structure management, and active directory services/DNS.
  • Provide data storage expertise in SANs, NAS, iSCSI, and DAS technologies.
  • Establish portal/web services with expertise in designing medium to large enterprise farms and geographical replication.
  • Monitor PKI/certificate authority and perform disaster recovery and backup/restore.
  • Support cybersecurity technology efforts, risks identification, and risk mitigation strategies related to cybersecurity.
  • Maintain LAN, WAN, and VoIP infrastructures, and administer multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, and network security devices.
  • Establish SATCOM with an emphasis on IP satellite and provide support with wireless networking and application delivery networking.
  • Provide high-level support and technical expertise in networking technology, including LAN/WAN hardware, switches, bridges, and routers.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience with a BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; 6 years with HS degree.
  • A DoD security clearance at the TS or above level is required.
  • Desired certifications include CCNP Collaboration, CCNP Data Center, CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, CCNP Service Provider, CCDP, CCIoT, Aruba Certified Mobility Professional, or Juniper Networks Certified Specialist.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) or other NSA Capabilities Package Engineering.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing and mobile computing technologies.
