About the position

The Sitecore QA Lead is responsible for designing and developing testing strategies for Sitecore applications, fostering continuous improvement, and promoting a shift-left culture within the QA department. This role involves close collaboration with the project team to ensure the delivery of high-quality software and effective testing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the project team to develop comprehensive quality deliverables, including test plans, strategies, test cases, procedures, and reports.
  • Create, monitor, and execute manual and automated tests by breaking down business requirements.
  • Conduct database testing using complex SQL queries.
  • Identify risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze test results and log defects in JIRA.
  • Partner with project team members to resolve and re-test identified issues and defects.
  • Provide guidance on software testing methods, patterns, and practices to the team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and internal engineering partners in a disciplined Agile environment.
  • Estimate testing tasks and work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a positive team attitude.
  • Represent team leadership and effectively communicate with stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior test personnel.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in QA roles, including positions as a Senior QA Engineer, QA Lead, or Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET).
  • Strong experience with Content Management Systems (CMS), particularly Sitecore.
  • Proficient in testing processes, open-source test frameworks, test design strategies, and writing test cases.
  • Experience with automation in Java using frameworks such as JUnit/TestNG, Selenium, JMeter, and Appium is preferred.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguous situations and effectively address technical issues to ensure project deliverables.
  • Familiarity with Azure or other continuous integration systems.
  • Proficient in tools and applications such as JIRA, Confluence, and Git.
  • Previous experience with requirements management, defect tracking, functional testing, and performance management systems.
  • Excellent coding skills in high-level programming languages (Java, C++, C#, Perl).
  • Expertise in software quality assurance and testing methodologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with automation in Java using frameworks such as JUnit/TestNG, Selenium, JMeter, and Appium is preferred.
