About the position

The SJC Operations Manager - Fueling at Swissport International AG is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of into-plane and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) fueling operations. This role includes managing daily activities such as scheduling, manpower planning, fuel quality audits, budgeting, and performance management, while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and customer service standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and efficient operation through subordinate staff members.
• Ensure customer service standards are met and contract services are performed.
• Enforce company safety and health policies.
• Ensure compliance with FAA, TSA, IATA, ATA, U.S. Customs, airport authority, and company regulations.
• Monitor time and attendance tracking and manage staff to reduce overtime dependence.
• Liaise with customers, airport authority, and governmental agency representatives.
• Coach, counsel, and discipline employees who violate company policy.
• Review activity, operating, and sales reports to determine service adequacy and necessary changes.
• Achieve location, employee, and aircraft incident/accident KPIs.
• Achieve location on-time performance KPIs.
• Achieve location financial performance KPIs.

Requirements

• College Level Degree preferred.
• Minimum of eight years into-plane experience, with five years in a management role required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, technical documents, and government regulations.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various variables.
• Valid driver's license.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge and work experience with Windows Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
