About the position
The Ski and Ride School Supervisor at Big Bear Mountain Resort is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the ski and ride school, including supervising instructors and activity assistants. This role involves teaching skiing and snowboarding to guests of all ages while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. The supervisor will also assist in staff training and interact with guests to promote excellent service.
Responsibilities
- Assist the manager in supervising apprentice instructors, instructors, and activity assistants.
- Teach skiing and snowboarding to children and adults.
- Provide support to all Ski and Ride School departments.
- Interact with guests consistently to enhance their experience.
- Assist with staff training as needed.
Requirements
- Valid California driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to operate equipment as trained.
- Effective communication skills to act as an ambassador of service.
- Capacity to read, understand, and comply with safety rules and guest policies.
- Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
- Strong familiarity with safety practices in ski school operations.
- Documentation of current membership status for a PSIA/AASI Level II Ski or Snowboard certification.
- Completion of the required BBMR Ski and Ride School training checklist.
- Completion of the On-Hill Skier and/or Snowboarder Certification.
- Completion of the appropriate clearance card for each level of skill-based lessons.
Nice-to-haves
