About the position

Part Time Days and Weekends Instructors are responsible for providing quality ski and snowboard instruction to individuals and groups of varying skill levels in a safe and enjoyable environment. The role emphasizes adherence to safety protocols and delivering exceptional guest service while navigating diverse terrain and challenging winter conditions.

Responsibilities

• Clearly and accurately instruct multiple levels of skiing/snowboarding to students with varying skill levels and ages.
• Ensure that students are matched to appropriate skill level groups and work with supervisors to make changes as appropriate.
• Provide a safe and fun learning environment through exceptional teaching methods, group handling, and creativity.
• Assist in operational responsibilities of Ski & Ride programs including registration process and upkeep of outdoor teaching areas.
• Attend required meetings and discuss lesson content with guests and their guardians when appropriate.
• Make sound decisions based on weather conditions, terrain, and other factors.
• Achieve and maintain a high level of guest service skills and experience.
• Assist guests with transportation of equipment and loading/unloading from uphill transportation.
• Supervise children in class at all times and assist at lunch & snack times.
• Maintain a pleasant temperament when dealing with all guests and adhere to employment policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred.
• Intermediate or above skier/snowboarder (comfortable skiing on blue trails).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively to groups and individuals.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Must be at least 14 years of age prior to start of Season and pass a criminal background check (CORI).
• Willingness to work long and irregular hours including weekends and holidays.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous ski/snowboard instruction experience preferred.
• PSIA/AASI/USSA certification preferred.
• Prior experience working with children & school groups preferred.
