About the position
The Ski & Snowboard School Product Manager at Vail Resorts is responsible for overseeing the quality of all program products at the location. This role involves managing a team of 50-60 instructors and acting as a liaison between various management levels to ensure that guests receive an exceptional experience. The position is full-time and seasonal, focusing on hiring, training, and maintaining high standards of service and safety within the ski and snowboard programs.
Responsibilities
- Hiring and training staff.
- Managing and coaching instructors and supervisors.
- Scheduling staff, assigning work, and booking private lessons when needed.
- Maintaining overall morale of program staff.
- Ensuring workplace safety and supporting all safety initiatives.
- Conducting quality control of all products within the program, including various lesson types.
- Communicating with the Location Manager, supervisors, and inside staff personnel.
- Performing administrative duties.
- Driving value for the company.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Degree or Equivalent required; College degree preferred.
- Minimum three years as a full-time instructor for a recognized ski and snowboard school required.
- At least two years management experience with the Vail Ski and Snowboard School preferred.
- Minimum PSIA/AASI Level 3 Certification required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Access) required; knowledge of RPOS preferred.
- Must read, speak, and comprehend English and possess writing and editing skills required.
- Excellent guest service and communication skills; must be organized and detail-oriented required.
- Knowledge of V/BC Ski & Snowboard School operations preferred.
- Prior Vail Resorts experience preferred.
