About the position

LinQuest is seeking a SkillBridge Operations Research Analyst Intern to join our team. This internship is specifically designed for active duty military personnel who are within the last 180 days of their military service. An active Secret clearance is required for this position. The SkillBridge internships are unpaid, as the active military member will continue to receive their military pay during the internship period. LinQuest is recognized nationally for its technical excellence, providing world-class engineering and hands-on support to Department of Defense (DoD) customers for critically important National Security space programs, systems, and vehicles, including spacecraft. As an intern, you will be working alongside government engineers, project managers, and operators to tackle challenging problems related to critical systems and equipment that ensure the safety of America and its allies. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience and exposure to Operations Research Analysis while contributing your unique viewpoints and skills to the team.

Responsibilities

• Understanding customer requirements, adjusting analytical efforts to meet those requirements, and effectively communicating results.
• Developing and implementing a variety of mathematical and statistical models, including artificial intelligence and machine learning methods, to solve various problems across multiple domains.
• Coordinating with senior managers and decision makers to identify and solve a variety of problems and clarify management objectives.
• Working as part of a contractor team alongside a broader team of government and contract staff.

Requirements

• High motivation, creativity, and flexibility to work in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Strong quantitative and analytic abilities to integrate and analyze data.
• Bachelor of Science degree in operations research or related technical field.
• 5 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Experience with R, Python, MATLAB, SAS, JAVA, or JMP.
• Experience with Excel VBA.
• Experience developing and implementing mathematical and statistical models.
• Must have an active Secret clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• A Masters or Ph.D. in operations research or a theoretical science field.
• 10+ years of experience in a relevant field.
• Experience in DoD space and joint force programs.
• Experience with SPSS, PSPP, SymPy, SAS, or JMP.
• Programming experience with Java, MATLAB, R, and/or Python.
