About the position

The SkillBridge - Mechanic Apprentice position is a developmental opportunity for active-duty military personnel transitioning to civilian careers. This role provides on-the-job training in the maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of material handling equipment, preparing participants for a career as a Field Service Technician. The program includes mentorship, formal training, and hands-on experience, ensuring adherence to safety standards and customer interaction.

Responsibilities

• Learn how to perform routine maintenance, diagnose and repair material handling equipment (i.e. forklifts, aerial lifts, pallet trucks, etc.)
• Complete required training certifications
• Assist mechanics
• Strictly adhere to all health and safety protocols
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with Company and OSHA Standards

Requirements

• Active Military personnel eligible for the DOD SkillBridge program
• Entry-level understanding of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Basic mechanical skills including electrical diagrams and hydraulic systems
• Motivated and able to work safely in high-pressure environments
• Ability to adapt to project changes and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work well both in team atmospheres and independently with little supervision
• Positive attitude and professional demeanor
• Ability to learn quickly and follow directions
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Excellent work ethic
• A valid driver's license and clean driving record
