About the position

Orion Talent is seeking a Military Base Recruiter for a Skillbridge program in San Diego, CA. This position is ideal for transitioning military servicemembers, particularly those with a technical rating from the Navy. The Military Base Recruiter will play a crucial role in executing recruiting initiatives, programs, and partnerships that drive talent attraction strategies within specific military markets or installations. The recruiter will collaborate with Internal Program Managers, Marketing, and Leadership to effectively engage military and adjacent candidate talent pools, ensuring that targeted headcount requirements are met. The role involves a strong focus on outreach and engagement activities that support the Workforce Partners' Future Ready Veterans military internship strategy. The recruiter will be responsible for developing excellent relationships with external partners, military bases, and transition/veteran centers on military installations to promote Orion Talent's HireSkills brand. This includes finding innovative ways to attract candidates and assess talent markets while developing and executing recruitment strategies, programs, and tools that align with business objectives. Additionally, the recruiter will market Skillbridge programs with transition services for each Military Branch, build candidate pipelines, and develop local networks to ensure a constant flow of qualified candidates. This will involve utilizing various sourcing methods, including social media, internet postings, database searches, and community outreach initiatives to create diverse candidate pools. The recruiter will also focus on building long-term, value-added relationships with both passive and active prospects, managing candidate communities, and providing meaningful experiences throughout the identification and attraction processes. Participation in national military events and recruiting conferences will also be overseen in partnership with Field Recruiting Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Drive outreach and engagement activities to support Workforce Partners' Future Ready Veterans military internship strategy.
  • Develop excellent relationships with external partners, military bases, and transition/veteran centers on military installations to promote Orion Talent's HireSkills brand and find unique ways to attract candidates.
  • Assess talent markets while developing and executing recruitment strategies, programs, and tools that support business objectives.
  • Market Skillbridge programs with transition services for each Military Branch.
  • Build candidate pipelines and develop local networks to ensure a constant flow of qualified candidates using a variety of sources, including direct sourcing utilizing social media and network contacts, internet postings, database searches, and community outreach initiatives to create diverse candidate pools.
  • Build long-term, value-added relationships with passive and active prospects, including managing candidate communities, providing meaningful experiences during the identification and attraction processes, and maintaining relationships with candidates not selected.
  • In partnership with Field Recruiting Teams, oversee and drive participation in national military events and recruiting conferences.

Requirements

  • Experience with recruiting or training veterans and engaging with various military programs, partnerships, platforms, and leadership, including sourcing and assessing diverse, high demand candidates.
  • Ability to utilize creative sourcing techniques, including network organizations, social media, and referrals.
