About the position

The Chimney Scientist is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Mason to join our team in Norristown, PA. This full-time position involves leading a team of masons to complete projects on-time, on-budget, and to a high level of quality. The ideal candidate will share the company's values of honesty, integrity, and respect, and will have extensive experience in masonry. The role includes collaboration with project managers, effective communication with clients, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of masons to complete projects on-time, on-budget, and to a high level of quality.
  • Work with project managers to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinate the delivery of materials and equipment to project sites.
  • Ensure that work is performed safely and in compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to answer questions and provide updates on project progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of all projects, including labor, material, and equipment costs.
  • Attend training sessions and stay up-to-date with industry trends and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with other members of the team to ensure customer satisfaction and the timely completion of projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in masonry, construction management, or a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in masonry, with at least 2 years of experience leading a team of masons.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor environments, as well as in confined spaces.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ESL training classes for Spanish speaking individuals.
  • Interest in participating in charity and environmental projects.
