About the position

The Skilled Freezer Operator at General Mills is responsible for supporting production packaging and processing operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role involves placing frozen products into totes, palletizing, and ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of the production area. The position requires working in very cold temperatures and includes participation in the startup, operation, changeover, and shutdown of operating equipment. The operator will work in a rotating shift pattern, primarily on night shifts, and must be willing to work overtime, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support production packaging and processing operations.
• Place frozen products into totes and palletize frozen products.
• Participate in startup, operation, changeover, and shutdown of operating equipment.
• Troubleshoot problems with machinery and collaborate with maintenance staff.
• Calibrate processing and packaging systems daily to meet specifications.
• Assist in training new employees.
• Perform cleaning and sanitation of production areas and equipment.
• Bag, stack, count, oil, paper feed, and operate bandsaw.
• Maneuver products within the freezer to maximize space utilization.
• Utilize a forklift or electric pallet jack as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school education or GED.
• 6 months or more of experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred.
• Ability to operate a manual and electric power jack.
• Ability to use a computer.
