About the position

The Skilled Production Operator at General Mills is responsible for supporting production packaging and processing operations within a manufacturing environment. This role involves machine operation, quality checks, paperwork completion, and general production duties, while participating in the startup, operation, changeover, and shutdown of equipment. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including night shifts, and offers opportunities for growth and skill development in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Support production packaging and processing operations.
• Participate in startup, operation, changeover, and shutdown of operating equipment.
• Perform machine operation and quality checks.
• Complete necessary paperwork and use electronic devices.
• Engage in general production duties and team member rotations.
• Troubleshoot problems with machinery and collaborate with maintenance staff.
• Calibrate processing and packaging systems to meet specifications.
• Assist in training new employees.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of production areas and equipment.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school education or GED.
• 6 months or more of experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred.
• Ability to operate a manual and electric power jack.
• Proficient in using a computer.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
