About the position

The Skilled Student Worker position in the Arts and Sciences Dean's Office at Seton Hall University is a part-time role designed for students to assist with various administrative tasks and projects. The position aims to support the office's initiatives, including the development of a landing page for prospective students and the creation of a calendar of activities. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work consistently for 15-20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general office duties including word processing.
  • Develop a forward-facing landing page for prospective students.
  • Create a calendar of activities with appropriate contacts.
  • Develop a system to achieve a welcome video from students and faculty.
  • Schedule interviews and collect/edit videos for presentations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Teaching, Learning, and Technology Center (TLTC).
  • Complete any other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Academic Affairs and Enrollment Management.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with department/office procedures.
  • Knowledge of specific software programs as needed.
  • Ability to work 15-20 hours a week with consistent hours.
  • Excellent telephone and communication skills.
  • Great listening skills and record keeping.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
  • Preference for majors in the College of Arts and Sciences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
  • Research savvy.
