About the position
The Stationary Steam Engineer position at Ford Motor Company involves operating and maintaining steam boilers and related equipment across various locations in Southeast Michigan. The role requires a strong understanding of safety protocols, teamwork, and the ability to follow detailed instructions. Successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of combustion and refrigeration equipment while adhering to company policies and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain steam boilers and related equipment.
- Monitor and repair air compressors and combustion equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on refrigeration equipment.
- Follow safety rules and procedures while working in a team environment.
- Accept and follow instructions from leadership and co-workers.
Requirements
- Completion of a bona fide apprenticeship or 8 years of relevant experience.
- Strong electrical background for troubleshooting combustion firing controls.
- CFC certification and a boiler operating license from the state/municipality.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods and working at heights.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with PM and repair of various types of combustion equipment.
- Ability to manipulate tools typical of the trade.
