We are seeking a dedicated Data Entry Clerk to join our team, responsible for accurately inputting information into our database from various paper documents. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills and demonstrate exceptional typing speed, along with a meticulous attention to detail. This role is crucial as the company relies on the Data Entry Clerk to maintain accurate and up-to-date data that is easily accessible through our digital database. You will report to a data manager or another senior member of the data team, ensuring that all data entry tasks are completed efficiently and accurately. In this position, you will be tasked with transferring data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using various tools such as keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners. You will also be responsible for typing in data provided directly from customers, creating spreadsheets with large volumes of figures while ensuring there are no mistakes. Verification of data by comparing it to source documents is a key responsibility, as is updating existing data to reflect the most current information. Additionally, you will retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested, perform regular backups to ensure data preservation, and sort and organize paperwork after entering data to prevent loss. This role requires a proactive approach to data management and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of our data systems.
