About the position
The Skills Instructor/Skills Coach position at Villa Esperanza Services involves assisting participants with employment and essential living skills. The role focuses on teaching, training, and encouraging independence in performing daily living skills while providing supervision. The Adult Day Program serves individuals aged 18 and older with developmental disabilities, aiming to develop their functional, cognitive, and behavioral skills for successful community integration.
Responsibilities
- Assist participants with employment and essential living skills.
- Teach, train, and encourage independence in performing living skills.
- Provide supervision to participants during activities.
- Adhere to all safety standards, regulations, and policies.
- Support the development and maintenance of functional, cognitive, and behavioral skills.
Requirements
- Valid CA Driver's License with 3 years of verifiable driving history.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience assisting special needs individuals, preferably 1 year.
- Ability to satisfactorily complete fingerprinting clearance, physical, and TB screenings.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with special needs adults (1 year preferred).
