As a Manufacturing Planning Manager (L5) in Skunk Works®, you will play a critical role as liaison between our design engineering teams and the elite women and men responsible for building tomorrow's future in an advanced manufacturing and technology facility. You will lead a Team of Manufacturing Engineering Planners and Represented Planners that develop all work instructions and safeguard configuration management across our portfolio of efforts. The ideal candidate for this position will be a strong leader that understands the nuances of motivating a team in a highly challenging manufacturing environment. This person will also have strong analytical thinking and business acumen skills, be highly collaborative, exhibit exceptional organizational skills, demonstrate proactive thinking, operate autonomously as appropriate, and produce superior work products under short deadlines. Our team is in development, and there will be an expectation to develop, shape, and document processes for manufacturing planning standard work. We work cross functionally and engage other organizations as needed to support our on program goals. This position is in Marietta, GA. This role may require infrequent travel, extended hours, and possible weekend/off-hour support. We work full time on site. Our team supports programs that may require additional special access in addition to a DoD Secret clearance.

Requirements

  • Proven technical leadership experience
  • Experience with a combination of the following: manufacturing processes and procedures including fabrication, assembly, metallics machining, coatings, electrical, composites, bonded assemblies &/or installations
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment working cross functionally with other disciplines including industrial engineering, scheduling, Quality Assurance or production engineering
  • Proven experience with developing schedules, managing and maintaining budgets, and/or resource requirements
  • Proven experience resolving complex technical challenges requiring integration with cross-functional teams
  • Proven experience with military/commercial aircraft
  • Proven experience shaping Manufacturing Execution System configuration
  • Active DoD Clearance with an Investigation within the last 5 years

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years' experience supporting manufacturing planning operations
  • Bachelor's degree (STEM preferred)
  • LM Aero Manufacturing Planning experience
  • 3D Modeling experience in 3DX / CATIA V5/V6
  • Proven experience with LM Manufacturing Planning
  • Proven experience with program start-ups with Manufacturing / Assembly / Production processes
  • Proven experience with a represented workforce
  • Experience with Apriso, Solumina, MRP systems, SAP, &/or other Manufacturing Execution System (MES) application
  • Project management experience
  • Working knowledge of one or more organizations including: Operations, IT, Planning, Production Control, ERP, MRP, Quality or systems integration
  • Atlassian Confluence and JIRA experience
  • Experience Root Cause and Corrective Action, and FMEA
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment or independently to solve problems in a timely manner
  • Ability to effectively present technical information to non-technical people

Responsibilities

  • Lead day to day activities of the Manufacturing Planning Team
  • Shape processes in support of engineering to manufacturing digital thread across 3DX, Apriso, and ERP4C
  • Ensure work instructions yield the best / most optimal build and affordable systems and develop forward looking performance measures
  • Grow the team's technical capabilities to meet current and future enterprise needs, through planning, gap assessment, and mentoring/knowledge transfer.
  • Develop strong leads that will serve as systems Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
  • Be responsible to develop a program centric culture of readiness, process adherence, and leted staff work
  • Represent the organization during customer events and audits
  • Active engagement and partnering with Production Engineering Central Services (PECS) and Program Assist (PAT).
