About the position

The Slate Administrator position at Carnegie Mellon University is a full-time, hybrid role that will commence in the summer of 2024. This position is situated within the Office of Enrollment Management (EM), which is dedicated to overseeing all aspects of the enrollment process and ensuring a welcoming environment for students from recruitment through to Commencement. The Enrollment Strategic Initiatives (EMSI) department is focused on enhancing the student experience by documenting and assessing operational needs to build tools and improve processes. As a Slate Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the systems ecosystem and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools that are essential for supporting admission and enrollment processes. In this role, you will engage in a variety of tasks aimed at developing efficient solutions that facilitate business operations within the Office of Enrollment Management. Your responsibilities will include building, testing, implementing, and maintaining processes and CRM functionality that will be utilized by EM units in their daily operations, as well as by partners throughout the Carnegie Mellon organization. The Slate Administrator will focus on leveraging the CRM and other EM-owned systems to deliver projects that address defined problems and desired future states, ultimately contributing to a quality, student-centered experience. The initial focus of this position will be on the development and launch of a suite of CRM tools specifically designed for admission processes, with additional work in other student-focused areas to follow. The role requires flexibility, as fully remote work may be offered at the discretion of the Enrollment Strategic Initiatives department. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the discovery and planning phase of EMSI projects to appropriately identify problems and optimal solutions
  • Complete the lifecycle of a project while staying abreast of new technologies and enhancements to existing solutions
  • Create and deliver testing solutions to minimize inaccuracy and aid in adoption of tools across EM division
  • Document standard business processes and routine procedures to provide necessary training for staff
  • Apply policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure consistent administration and compliance
  • Build tools, queries and solutions for EM, admission processes and campus partners, including updating and maintaining a student portal to aid with recruitment and application for first-year and transfer enrollment
  • Troubleshoot and maintain CRM, software and database systems within EM
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • 0-2 years of related experience with CRM tools -- Slate by Technolutions highly preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and organizational skills required
  • Proficiency and comfort with technology
  • Attention to detail and passion for fostering student success through systems
