About the position

The Development Student Ambassador position at Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) is a part-time work-study role designed for current students to gain hands-on experience in development and philanthropic work. This program allows students to collaborate with the Development Office, providing insights into higher education complexities while enhancing their leadership skills and professional networks. Ambassadors will engage with various stakeholders, including students, staff, and donors, while receiving a scholarship to cover tuition and fees up to $2,500 per semester.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, coordinating, promoting, and supporting events and programs hosted by the Development office.
  • Perform clerical functions such as data entry, case management, spreadsheets, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Assist in outreach and follow-up of scholarship recipients.
  • Complete delegated tasks by Development officers to meet various donor/staff needs.
  • Assist Administrative assistant with other duties as assigned.
  • Provide event support for the Annual Scholarship Luncheon, board meetings, Giving Day activities, and events for the Center of Latin American Studies.
  • Engage in and help plan special events and programming.

Requirements

  • Current Salt Lake Community College Student
  • Minimum 2.0 GPA
  • Registered for 9.0 credit for Fall and Spring semesters
  • Registered for 6.0 credit hours for the summer semester
  • Participate in Campus Internship Program professional development activities
  • Maintain 15-20 hours per week work schedule
  • Fluent in Spanish

  • Strong social and customer service skills and cultural competencies.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with diverse individuals.
  • Proficiency in a foreign language.
