About the position

The Fluids and Propulsion Engineering Operations Lead at Blue Origin is responsible for overseeing the execution of engineering operations related to fluids and propulsion systems. This role involves managing the entire product life cycle, from research and design to manufacturing and production, ensuring that projects meet budget, schedule, and performance metrics. The position requires collaboration with various teams, including NASA and national partners, to support the development of lunar transportation systems for human spaceflight.

Responsibilities

  • Manage budgets, schedules, work breakdown structures, and program plans to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Lead the execution of Agile processes for weekly planning and tracking within the team.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Fluids/Prop team and the Lunar Transportation program management office.
  • Develop and maintain programmatic key performance metrics including cost, schedule, and risk management.
  • Collaborate with NASA and national team partners on the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program.
  • Present status, risks, opportunities, variances, and recovery plans to engineering and program management.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Mathematics, or related disciplines.
  • 5+ years of experience managing projects/programs, including managing priorities, scope, schedule, integration, and cost.
  • Experience with critical path scheduling, IMP/IMS, risk management, requirements management, and Cost Account Management such as EVM.
  • Experience with Agile project management methodology and JIRA software.
  • Experience with P6 Primavera, MS Project, or similar scheduling software packages.
  • Corporate and subcontract financial experience.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA degree or equivalent experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience.
  • Proficient with MS Excel capabilities such as Macros and Power Query.
