About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Branch Small Business Banker (SAFE) in Consumer and Small Business Banking, responsible for managing relationships with small business customers. This role involves proactive outreach to build and grow customer relationships, understanding their financial needs, and coordinating with internal partners to provide comprehensive financial solutions. The position also emphasizes risk management and compliance with banking regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of small business customers with annual gross sales between $100k and $1MM.
  • Work proactively to build and grow relationships with new customers and engage with existing customers through outreach and visits.
  • Participate in community organizations and build relationships with centers of influence.
  • Create relationships with branch employees to help meet customers' broader financial needs and resolve customer concerns.
  • Engage with customers in all phases of the business life cycle, conducting needs-based conversations to identify their credit, deposit, and servicing needs.
  • Serve as a leader in managing risk and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of branch small business banking experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • 1+ year of experience managing a dedicated book of small business customers across an assigned territory.
  • Extensive knowledge of bank lending programs, credit policies, and specialty products.
  • Customer service focus with experience handling complex transactions across multiple systems.
  • Ability to educate customers on technology and mobile banking options.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience mentoring and peer-coaching others.
  • Relevant military experience in personnel benefits management or human resources.
