About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Branch Small Business Banker (SAFE) to act as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of small business customers. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with customers, understanding their financial needs, and providing tailored banking solutions. The position requires proactive outreach, participation in community organizations, and collaboration with branch employees to meet customers' broader financial needs while ensuring compliance with banking regulations.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of small business customers with annual gross sales between $100k and $1MM.
• Work proactively to build and grow relationships with new and existing customers through outreach and in-person visits.
• Participate in community organizations and build relationships with centers of influence.
• Create relationships with branch employees to help meet customers' broader financial needs and resolve customer concerns.
• Engage with customers throughout all phases of the business life cycle, identifying their credit, deposit, and servicing needs.
• Manage risk by adhering to policies, procedures, and compliance regulations.

Requirements

• 2+ years of branch small business banking experience or equivalent work experience, training, military experience, or education.

Nice-to-haves

• 1+ year of experience managing a dedicated book of small business customers across an assigned territory.
• Knowledge and understanding of a book of business.
• Experience providing financial services consultation to small business customers.
• Extensive knowledge of bank lending programs, credit policies, and specialty products.
• Customer service focus with experience handling complex transactions across multiple systems.
• Experience building and maintaining effective relationships with customers and internal partners.
• Ability to educate customers on technology and mobile banking options.
