About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Branch Small Business Banker (SAFE) in Consumer and Small Business Banking, responsible for managing relationships with small business customers. The role involves proactive outreach to build and grow customer relationships, understanding their financial needs, and providing tailored banking solutions. The banker will also engage with community organizations and collaborate with branch employees to meet customers' broader financial needs while ensuring compliance with banking regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of small business customers with annual gross sales between $100k and $1MM.
  • Build and grow relationships with new and existing customers through proactive outreach and in-person visits.
  • Participate in community organizations and build relationships with centers of influence.
  • Create relationships with branch employees to help meet customers' broader financial needs.
  • Engage with customers in all phases of the business life cycle and conduct needs-based conversations.
  • Manage risk and ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of branch small business banking experience or equivalent work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • Experience managing a dedicated book of small business customers across an assigned territory.
  • Strong business acumen to provide financial services consultation to small business customers.
  • Extensive knowledge of bank lending programs, credit policies, and specialty products.
  • Customer service focus with experience handling complex transactions across multiple systems.
  • Ability to educate customers on technology and mobile banking options.
  • Experience mentoring and peer-coaching others.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant military experience including working with military protocol and instructions.
  • Experience in personnel benefits management or military recruiting.
