About the position

The Commercial Account Manager will act as a trusted advisor to small business clients, providing consultative guidance and exceptional service. This role involves working closely with specialty practices and producers in a high-volume environment, while also mentoring Assistant Account Managers.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain constructive relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Leverage commercial P&C insurance knowledge to service existing accounts and develop new business opportunities.
  • Manage system records of service, marketing, and policy communications with clients and carriers in AMS.
  • Participate in the retention of renewal business.
  • Interact with producers to prepare specifications, applications, underwriting data, and related information for marketing insurance products.
  • Ensure clients have continuous and proper coverage, advising them of recommendations within a mutually established timeline.
  • Review current policies and provide recommendations regarding placement options.
  • Utilize department workflows and industry contacts to determine appropriate coverage and premiums.
  • Support the implementation of new lines of coverage by setting up accounts and reviewing plan details with clients and carriers.
  • Execute coverage analysis and provide clients with accurate quotations for additional coverages.

Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years of Commercial Lines client management experience.
  • Valid P&C brokers' license; college degree preferred.
  • Industry-specific designations preferred: CISR, ARM or similar.
  • Proficient in insurance agency management systems, AMS 360 and Work Smart preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of Commercial Lines underwriting, coverage, and rate analysis/procedures.
  • Ability to articulate products/plans to clients and underwriters, including compliance and legislative information.
  • Understanding of marketplace trends and best practices to meet client needs.
  • Ability to collect, interpret, and analyze complex data and information.
  • Flexible and able to work effectively under pressure, handling multiple tasks with interruptions and changing priorities.
