About the position
The John Deere Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing scheduled maintenance on consumer products such as lawnmowers, snow blowers, and John Deere Gators. This role requires expertise in using diagnostic tools and equipment to ensure effective service and repair of various small products.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose equipment using diagnostic software and online technical manuals.
- Perform component removal, disassembly, and reconditioning as part of the repair process.
- Safely operate all equipment sold and serviced by the dealership.
- Resolve electrical and mechanical issues.
- Participate in special programs, such as sales of service packages, to help the dealership.
- Communicate repairs with customers to ensure they understand the work being done.
Requirements
- High School Degree or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in a related field.
- Ownership of necessary tools.
- Electronic diagnostic ability.
- Ability to perform all tasks without supervision.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs repeatedly.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write diagnosis and work completed on routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to use a personal computer and various types of diagnostic equipment.
