About the position

The Small Engine Service Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of various agricultural, lawn maintenance, and construction equipment. This role involves both in-shop and field service work, requiring a blend of mechanical skills and technical diagnostics, particularly with modern computerized systems. The technician must maintain good customer relations and adhere to safety practices while performing their duties.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain a variety of agricultural, lawn maintenance, and construction equipment.
• Service equipment in the field as required.
• Demonstrate mechanical skills from basic to complex technical diagnostics.
• Provide own basic tool kit for repairs.
• Navigate product support software and computer programs for work order maintenance.
• Write reports for customer invoicing.
• Exercise good customer relations and handle customer complaints.
• Maintain a working relationship with fellow employees.
• Follow safety practices at all times.
• Perform routine maintenance on small engine equipment such as Stihl equipment, Honda equipment, pressure washers, push mowers, riding lawn mowers, UTVs, and compact tractors.
• Sharpen or replace blades, change oil, filters, spindles, belts, etc.
• Knowledge of parts related to small engines, including air filters, spark plugs, and belts.

Requirements

• Mechanical knowledge, preferably with z-tracks to 2 Stroke equipment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Basic data entry skills and ability to write reports.
• Ability to work in fast-paced and extreme environmental conditions.
• Self-motivated and an overachiever.
• Team builder.
