About the position

Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS), is actively seeking Engineering, Professional, Technical, and administrative support personnel as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy at the Y-12 National Security Complex located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and the Pantex Plant located in Amarillo, Texas. Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance Y-12's core mission to ensure a safe, secure, and reliable U.S. nuclear deterrent, which is essential to national security. Though employed by AIS, the employee will take day-to-day direction and assignments from Y-12 staff employed directly by the security complex. Responsibilities

  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for the implementation and administration of Hexagon Smart Suite applications.
  • Assist in the maintenance of application servers and databases.
  • Configure reference data based on specifications.
  • Develop workflow instructions.
  • Integrate applications to work together to correlate and exchange data based on defined discipline roles and rules.
  • Integrate applications with operation and facility management automation toolsets for data visualization and reporting.
  • Apply technical skills of engineering and conduct formal presentations to plant personnel and other stakeholders.
  • Review projects for technical accuracy and present information clearly and effectively.
  • Lead teams of multi-disciplinary professionals.
  • Gather requirements, develop project plans, budgets, and manage risks related to assigned projects.
  • Familiarity with concepts related to human factors, configuration management, database solutions, data management, product life cycle management, system reliability, electronic procedures, and human interfaces.
  • Seek out state of the art software and process solutions, and implement process improvements with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering/science discipline from an Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program and 15-20 years' experience OR a Master's degree in an engineering/science discipline or a PhD in an engineering/science discipline with 14-18 years' experience.
  • Ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance.
  • Meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2 (i.e., Baccalaureate in engineering or related science, 2 years job-related and at least 1 year nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2 alternative).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy.
  • Participation in an ongoing random drug testing program in addition to the pre-employment drug screen.
  • Job related pre-placement medical examinations may be required.
