About the position

The Smashburger & Bar Restaurant Manager will oversee all front of house and kitchen activities in a high-volume airport restaurant environment. This role focuses on managing team performance, ensuring food quality and safety, controlling costs, and fostering a collaborative work environment. The manager will also handle office management tasks, including scheduling and payroll, while providing leadership and development opportunities for the team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all front of house and kitchen activities.
  • Supervise and evaluate team member performance, providing feedback and disciplinary action as needed.
  • Ensure food quality and standards, maintaining recipe adherence and portion control.
  • Optimize food and labor costs to maximize profitability.
  • Recruit, train, and communicate with the team of Food Travel Experts.
  • Develop, plan, and assign daily goals and tasks for team members.
  • Implement and maintain guest service standards and Smashburger brand specifications.
  • Maintain adherence to company policies and state health/sanitation standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and maintain merchandising standards.
  • Handle office management tasks such as funds management, inventory, purchasing, scheduling, and payroll.
  • Assist in monitoring sales performance through analysis of sales reports and comparison shopping.
  • Address routine issues and escalate complex problems to higher management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or equivalent coursework preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in restaurant/food service in a management/supervisory capacity.
  • Full Service and/or Quick Service restaurant experience preferred; culinary background is desirable.
  • Relevant certifications including Food Handlers' Card.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
  • Effective organizational skills to prioritize activities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with diverse team members and resolve conflicts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Culinary background is desirable.
  • Experience in a high-volume food service environment.
