About the position

The SMB Account Manager is responsible for generating new business accounts and managing existing accounts within a defined territory. This role focuses on achieving sales quotas by effectively marketing business solutions to both potential and current customers. The position emphasizes building strong relationships with key decision-makers to enhance customer loyalty and retention, ultimately driving business results as a trusted advisor.

Responsibilities

  • Generate new business accounts in a defined territory.
  • Achieve sales quotas by marketing business solutions to existing and potential customers.
  • Team sell with business channel support roles to improve customer loyalty and retention.
  • Build strong relationships with key account decision makers.
  • Utilize the approved sales process to prospect new business accounts.
  • Deliver comprehensive business solution proposals to drive account growth.
  • Conduct customer needs assessments to position innovative business solutions.
  • Engage internal and external support partners to add value to customer solutions.
  • Maintain accurate customer records using the CRM platform.
  • Build knowledge of the Internet of Things (IoT) to position as innovative solutions.
  • Promote brand awareness and identify new business prospects within the community.
  • Partner with business sales support specialists to manage and grow existing accounts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 2 or more years' experience in outside direct sales.
  • Metrics-driven sales "hunter" with a professional demeanor and high sense of urgency.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in sales account management practices.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work efforts in a dynamic environment.
  • Advanced business and financial acumen.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to travel 50-70%.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3 to 5 years' experience in outside direct sales.
  • Experience concentrated in wireless sales.
  • Experience in wireless, software, IT, or related telecommunications industry.
