About the position

The Senior Managing Director, Impact & Partnerships is a pivotal leadership role within Teach For America South Carolina (TFASC). This position is responsible for setting the vision and overarching strategy for TFASC's programmatic offerings, ensuring that every student in South Carolina has access to an excellent and equitable education. The Senior Managing Director will work closely with the Executive Director and the leadership team to design and implement a comprehensive theory of leadership development across the program continuum. This role involves cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, including school district partners, principals, and community-based organizations, to strategically integrate TFASC's programs with existing community efforts and to develop a vision for program growth and evolution. In this capacity, the Senior Managing Director will lead the Regional Impact team in designing and executing programs that are aligned with key performance indicators (KPIs), regional strategy, and the ambitious 2030 Goal. The role requires a strong focus on partnerships strategy and development, regional and programmatic strategy, recruitment efforts, and team responsibilities. The Senior Managing Director will be expected to maintain open communication with school district partners and support the region's teacher recruitment goals by participating in career fairs and other recruitment activities. This position is not only about managing programs but also about driving the overall impact and vision for TFASC's initiatives, ensuring that they are effectively meeting the needs of the communities served. The Senior Managing Director will also be a member of TFASC's Senior Leadership Team, collaborating with the Executive Director to set strategic goals and foster a positive organizational culture. Responsibilities

  • Develop regional partnerships strategy across the network, including district, school, university, and recruitment partners.
  • Cultivate and develop relationships with key partners and stakeholders at all levels of the communities to support the growth and scaling of TFASC's programs.
  • Support in building a robust network of leadership development opportunities across various partner types for the career acceleration of prospects, teachers, and alumni.
  • Maintain open and frequent communication with school district partners to align TFASC's programs with district priorities.
  • Own overall impact, vision, direction, and strategy for all prospect, teacher, and alumni-facing programs.
  • Lead the Regional Impact team in development and execution for all programs in alignment with key KPIs and regional priorities.
  • Set goals, strategy, and reporting for the 2030 Goal in partnership with the Chief of Staff.
  • Share responsibility as regional point of contact for South Carolina's corps program, supporting SC corps members and creating opportunities for enrichment and community learning.
  • Support the region's teacher recruitment goals by attending in-person career fairs and participating in recruitment activities as needed.
  • Support and participate in regional events and team staff meetings, retreats, and other engagements.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of related work experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to execute on multiple work-streams simultaneously.
  • Strategic and entrepreneurial thinker with the ability to set vision and direction.
  • Exceptional leadership coaching skills and demonstrated ability to lead others to achieve ambitious outcomes.
  • Strong ability to build relationships and tailor approach toward the perspective of others across a variety of stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead through a culturally relevant lens and empower staff, corps members, alumni, students, and communities.

  • Willingness to work occasional weekend or evening hours required.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
