We are currently seeking an exceptional Subject Matter Expert (SME) Database Administrator with 12-15 years of hands-on experience to join our team in various locations including Arlington, VA, Morgantown, WV, Bridgewater, VA, and Charlottesville, VA. This role is pivotal in providing the best support and products to our Army Program Executive Office customers. As a Database Administrator, you will lead a team of Senior and Journeyman Database Administrators in designing, structuring, and producing documentation, upgrades, and operational guidelines for the Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) environment. You will ensure that database modeling and design, relational database architecture, and metadata creation for the Enterprise Business Solutions - Convergence program incorporate industry-wide best practices. Your responsibilities will include using data mapping, data mining, and data transformational analysis tools to design and develop databases for the program, ensuring data integrity, maintaining database support tools, and making recommendations for enhancements within an Agile SAFe environment. You will work independently or as part of the database team to achieve day-to-day goals under the direction of the ERB-C Solutions Architect, collaborating with Senior and SME Software Developers on the EBS-C program. Additionally, you will develop technical solutions to complex issues associated with the EBS-C databases, requiring collaboration with other technical experts. Coaching and training other database administrators on the development and analysis of the EBS-C Database applications will also be part of your role. This position reports to the Leidos EBS-C Solutions Architect and EBS-C Project Manager, and it offers a unique opportunity to grow and develop your skills in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Senior and Journeyman Database Administrators.
  • Design, structure, and produce documentation for the Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment environment.
  • Ensure database modeling and design incorporates industry-wide best practices.
  • Use data mapping, data mining, and data transformational analysis tools to design and develop databases.
  • Ensure data integrity and maintain database support tools, tables, and dictionaries.
  • Develop recovery and backup procedures for databases.
  • Make recommendations regarding enhancements and improvements within an Agile SAFe environment.
  • Collaborate with the ERB-C Solutions Architect and Senior Software Developers on the EBS-C program.
  • Develop technical solutions to complex issues associated with EBS-C databases.
  • Coach and train other database administrators on EBS-C Database applications.
  • Communicate with technical staff including prime contractor and technical experts on the EBS-C program.

Requirements

  • BS degree and 12-15 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Ability to communicate with executive leadership regarding significant matters related to the EBS-C project.
  • In-depth understanding of Database principles, theories, and concepts applicable in an Agile SAFe environment.
  • Expert knowledge of advanced principles and concepts applicable to EBS-C.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of EBS-C Lead SAP/ERP migrations or other Database Application migrations to the Cloud.
  • Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using SAFe principles.
