About the position

At Leidos, we are seeking an exceptional SME Database Administrator to join our team, where you will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative solutions to our Army Program Executive Office customers. This position is based in Bridgewater, VA, with opportunities in Arlington, Morgantown, and Charlottesville. We are looking for candidates with 12-15 years of hands-on experience in database administration, who are ready to take their careers to the next level in a dynamic and collaborative environment. As a SME Database Administrator, you will lead a team of Senior and Journeyman Database Administrators, focusing on the design, structure, documentation, upgrades, and operational guidelines of our Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) environment. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that database modeling and design adhere to industry best practices, as well as overseeing the creation of metadata and repositories for the Enterprise Business Solutions - Convergence program. You will utilize data mapping, data mining, and transformational analysis tools to develop databases that meet the program's needs. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining data integrity, supporting database tools, and implementing recovery and backup procedures. You will work closely with the ERB-C Solutions Architect and collaborate with Senior and SME Software Developers to achieve daily goals. Additionally, you will coach and train other database administrators on the development and analysis of EBS-C Database applications, ensuring effective communication with technical staff and stakeholders. This position requires a strong understanding of database principles and the ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership regarding significant project matters.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Senior and Journeyman Database Administrators in designing and structuring databases.
  • Produce documentation, upgrades, and operational guidelines for the CI/CD environment.
  • Ensure database modeling and design incorporates industry best practices.
  • Utilize data mapping, data mining, and transformational analysis tools to develop databases.
  • Maintain user data integrity and oversee database support tools, tables, and dictionaries.
  • Implement recovery and backup procedures for databases.
  • Collaborate with the ERB-C Solutions Architect and Senior Software Developers to achieve project goals.
  • Coach and train other database administrators on EBS-C Database applications.
  • Communicate with technical staff and stakeholders regarding database issues and solutions.

Requirements

  • BS degree and 12-15 years of prior relevant experience; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Ability to communicate with executive leadership regarding significant project matters.
  • In-depth understanding of database principles, theories, and concepts in an Agile SAFe environment.
  • Expert knowledge of advanced principles and concepts applicable to EBS-C.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of EBS-C.
  • Experience leading SAP/ERP migrations or other Database Application migrations to the Cloud.
  • Familiarity with SAFe principles to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
