About the position

The A37/8 Operations Integration & Innovation (Cyber/IW) at 16 AF is seeking a highly skilled Operations Research System Analyst to join our team at Lackland AFB, TX. This position requires a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance and is focused on providing critical analysis and decision support to senior military leadership. The successful candidate will design, develop, and apply a variety of decision analytics, mathematical and statistical techniques, data mining, modeling and simulation, and other analytic methods. These methods will be combined with military and/or Intelligence Community (IC) judgment to address operational and planning challenges, facilitating informed decisions by senior leadership. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering unique and timely analysis on a range of pressing, operationally focused issues. This will involve utilizing multi-source data and applying inter-disciplinary techniques and methods to derive actionable insights. You will demonstrate the ability to define problems, supervise studies, and lead surveys to collect and analyze data, ultimately providing advice and recommending solutions to complex issues. Your analytic leadership and expertise will be crucial in identifying, planning, developing, and executing analytic production methodologies, tradecraft, and techniques that align with the mission of the labor category. You will also provide strategic advice, technical guidance, and expertise to Defense planners and policymakers, including those at the Undersecretary level or higher. This position requires a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, with at least a portion of that experience occurring within the last two years. A Master's degree from an accredited institution is required, or a Bachelor's degree with an additional 5 years of related expert experience, totaling 20 years, as a substitute for the Master's degree.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop decision analytics and statistical techniques to address operational challenges.

  • Lead studies and surveys to collect and analyze data for problem-solving and solution recommendations.
  • Provide strategic advice and technical guidance to Defense planners and policymakers.
  • Execute analytic production methodologies and tradecraft aligned with mission objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of experience conducting relevant analysis, with at least some experience in the last 2 years.
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution or a Bachelor's degree with an additional 5 years of related expert experience, totaling 20 years.
