SMT Operator - 2nd shift

About the position

The SMT Operator position on the 2nd shift at Ducommun involves monitoring and maintaining equipment used in surface mount technology (SMT) for electronic circuits. The role requires operators to mount electronic components onto circuit boards and collaborate with technicians and engineers to address critical defect data. This position is essential for ensuring the quality and efficiency of the manufacturing process in a clean and climate-controlled environment.

Responsibilities

• Load and assist with setup and staging of product on the SMT lines.
• Perform setup and tear down on all feeders for all pick and place machines.
• Assist the operator in setting up and running all pick and place machines.
• Perform manual placement of SMT and PIH components.
• Adhere to General Requirements of Team Members.
• Perform other assignments as required.
• Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and understand load plans.
• Ability to read and understand production drawings.
• Basic component identification skills.
• Ability to build electronic assemblies.
• Six months of printed circuit board assembly experience preferred.
