About the position

The RWJBH Social Impact and Community Investment (SICI) SNAP Navigator Program Manager will lead a dedicated team of SNAP Navigators strategically placed across RWJBH acute care facilities. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the program maintains compliance with state agencies, manages budgets effectively, and fosters professional growth among team members. The Manager will set a compassionate tone for the team, which is focused on providing food access assistance to the communities served, aligning with RWJBH's commitment to combat food insecurity. We are seeking an enthusiastic leader who is passionate about making healthy food available to neighbors in need. In this role, the Program Manager will oversee 12 SNAP Navigators throughout the RWJBH system, ensuring that they are well-trained and equipped to assist individuals in navigating the SNAP enrollment process. The Manager will aggregate data and prepare reporting metrics for monthly departmental and quarterly state reporting, ensuring that the program's impact is effectively communicated. Additionally, the Manager will coordinate scheduling with community partner organizations to provide services and maintain and foster new relationships with these partners. Participation in recurring state and partner organization-led training sessions is essential to maintain expertise in program eligibility requirements and application procedures. This position requires a full understanding of SNAP enrollment processes to aid in staff training and overall program implementation. The Manager will also be responsible for leading a team of compassionate individuals who are dedicated to improving food access in the communities we serve. The role is based at the RWJBH Corporate Offices in West Orange, NJ, and requires flexibility to work expanded hours as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 12 SNAP Navigators across RWJBH acute care facilities.
  • Ensure program compliance with state agencies and manage budgets effectively.
  • Foster professional growth among team members.
  • Aggregate data and prepare reporting metrics for monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Coordinate scheduling with community partner organizations to provide services.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with partner organizations.
  • Participate in training sessions to maintain expertise in program eligibility and application procedures.
  • Train staff on SNAP enrollment processes and program implementation.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Solution-driven, self-motivated, and empathetic.
  • Comprehension of food security and food access issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle with valid insurance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Higher educational experience in Public and/or Community Health.
  • Relevant work experience in benefits enrollment programs.
