About the position

The Snow Removal Operator/Technician is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient snow removal operations during winter weather conditions. This role involves operating various types of snow removal equipment and performing additional landscape maintenance tasks during the off-season. The ideal candidate will have mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work in harsh weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate snow plow trucks and other snow removal equipment to clear roads, parking lots, and sidewalks of snow and ice.
• Respond promptly to changing conditions to ensure timely snow removal.
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate snow removal efforts efficiently.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools for additional landscape maintenance tasks as needed.
• Maintain a clean work area and ensure all equipment is stored properly after use.
• Assist with landscape maintenance tasks during off-season periods, including mowing, tree trimming, hardscape installation, and general lawn care.

Requirements

• Experience operating snow plow trucks or similar heavy machinery is helpful but will train.
• Strong work ethic and time utilization skills are a must, especially when issues arise.
• Ability to work in harsh weather conditions for extended periods.
• Proficient in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety protocols.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends during winter storms.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with landscape maintenance practices such as mowing and tree trimming is a plus but will train.
