About the position

The Snowflake Database Administrator is responsible for architecting and developing scalable data applications, managing Snowflake database setups, and ensuring data governance and security. This role requires extensive experience in data engineering and administration, with a focus on implementing enterprise data warehouse solutions and integrating various data tools.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop end-to-end scalable data applications.
• Set up and administer Snowflake databases, including ERWIN modeling.
• Design and implement enterprise data warehouse solutions with strong SQL capabilities.
• Implement data governance and security measures, including PII data handling.
• Monitor and alert unauthorized data access and changes.
• Onboard new data tools and configure Snowflake with Informatica and other analytical tools.
• Manage compute and storage, applying best practices for schema and table creations.
• Evaluate load operations and performance of data applications.
• Collaborate with key business, technology, and data teams to develop strong relationships.
• Work with data engineering best practices across the development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, or a technology-related field, or equivalent experience.
• 12 years of technology experience, with 8 years in Data Engineering or BI Engineering.
• 8 years of experience in Snowflake database setup and administration.
• Strong SQL query capabilities and experience with ERWIN modeling.
• 8 years of experience in implementing data governance and security measures.
• 6 years of experience onboarding new data tools and integrating Snowflake with various platforms.
• 8 years of experience managing compute and storage in Snowflake.
• 6 years of working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, S3 datalake, and AWS cloud technologies.
• 6 years of experience in agile methodologies and data engineering best practices.

• Snowflake SnowPro Advanced Architect Certification.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) Solution Architect or Certified Data Analytics.
