About the position

The Sr. Snowflake Database Administrator is responsible for providing technical leadership and operational support for the Snowflake environment. This role focuses on Snowflake Database Administration, ensuring effective management and optimization of the Snowflake architecture, while collaborating with end users to resolve issues and manage projects within established priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and operational support for the Snowflake environment performing Snowflake Database Administration.
• Collaborate with end users to resolve issues.
• Complete user requests and ServiceNow tasks in a timely manner.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide off-hour support.
• Prioritize work and manage projects within established budget objectives and customer priorities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience functioning as a Snowflake DBA.
• 5-8 years of experience in IT, preferably in a mid-senior level role.
• Experience working with Snowflake vendor on new features and issues.
• Strong understanding of Snowflake architecture, computing, storage, integrations, and secure data sharing.
• Proficient in Snowflake SQL and understanding of its unique features.
• Solid understanding of Snowflake features such as Cloning, Data Sharing, Secure Views, caching, Warehouse sizes, and scaling.
• Experience with Snowflake data loading and unloading processes.
• Familiarity with Snowflake's security features and role-based access control.
• Strong relational database and SQL skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Snow Pro certification is a huge plus.
• Prior background as DBA in SQL, Oracle, or Teradata.
