About the position

The Snowflake Database Administrator (DBA) role focuses on the implementation and configuration of the infrastructure for a data integration hub. This position involves designing, developing, and implementing solutions using agile methodologies, ensuring performance metrics are met, and automating data acquisition from various sources. The DBA will also provide operational support and enhancements for the data integration hub, requiring a strong understanding of Snowflake architecture and hands-on experience with its components.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and configure the infrastructure for the data integration hub.
  • Design, develop, and implement the data integration hub using agile methodologies.
  • Validate performance metric requirements and create Epics/User Stories/Tasks.
  • Automate data acquisition from various data sources.
  • Develop complex SQL scripts and test integration, load, and stress.
  • Deploy and publish solutions internally and externally.
  • Provide operations support and enhancement of the data integration hub.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Snowflake environments, including usage tracking and query profiling.

Requirements

  • 8 years of experience with Snowflake architecture and its components.
  • 8 years of hands-on experience with Snowflake objects such as Databases, Procedures, Tasks, and Streams.
  • 8 years of expertise in using Snowflake's cloning capabilities for databases and schemas.
  • 8 years of proven experience in managing Snowflake Warehouses and optimizing performance for efficient query execution.
  • 8 years of proficiency in Snowflake RBAC (Role-Based Access Control).
  • 8 years of experience integrating Snowflake SSO (Single Sign-On) and SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management).
  • 8 years of familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control for managing Snowflake code deployments.
  • 8 years of experience with data integration tools like Informatica and ADF for ETL/ELT processes.
  • 8 years of ability to automate administrative tasks using Snowflake SQL and scripting languages like Python or Shell scripting.
  • 8 years of expertise in monitoring and troubleshooting Snowflake environments.
  • 8 years of strong understanding of Snowflake's security features such as data masking, encryption, and network policies.
  • 8 years of technical writing and diagramming skills, including proficiency with modeling and mapping tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • 8 years of experience on an agile sprint team.
  • 8 years of experience with JIRA software.
  • 8 years of experience working with multiple teams concurrently, prioritizing and completing work on time with high quality.
  • 6 years of proven ability to write well-designed, testable, efficient code using best software development practices.
  • 4 years of understanding security principles as they apply to healthcare data.
  • 4 years of experience with software components for performance metrics data visualization or business intelligence.
  • 4 years of excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • 4 years of ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize conflicting assignments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business or equivalent experience.

  • 3 years of prior experience in the Healthcare Industry.
  • 2 years of prior experience with an HHS agency.
  • 2 years of prior experience working with PII or PHI data.
  • 2 years of prior experience working with HL7 data.
