About the position

The Snowflake Developer with Python Scripting role at DTCC involves working on innovative projects within a dynamic team environment. The position focuses on database development, technical design of application components, and ensuring data security and integrity. The developer will contribute to best practices and standards while building and deploying solutions that enhance data efficiency and usability across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize business use cases.
• Understand the business, strategy, data sets, and collaborate to develop reusable data models, dashboards, or other data assets.
• Build solutions that improve the efficiency of data users.
• Provide end-to-end data architectural expertise for OLTP, data warehousing, and business analytics solutions.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on programming languages, vendor products, and data structures.
• Focus on database technologies such as Oracle and Snowflake.
• Program and optimize database objects including Tables, Views, Stored Procedures, and Functions.
• Operationalize PERL, Python, and Shell scripts for various processes and job executions.
• Provide level 3 support to multiple production applications and triage operational issues.
• Support multiple production application releases and maintenance during off-peak hours.
• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for implementation across RDS Trade Repositories.
• Align risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities.

Requirements

• 4 years' experience in Database Development or System Analysis.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical/computer field or related experience required.
• Deep expertise in data management, data architecture, and data modeling.
• Solid understanding of agile development methodologies.
• Proven expertise in scripting languages such as PERL, Python, and Shell.
• Solid understanding of distributed and cloud-based data technologies and analytics tools.
• Specific knowledge of Oracle, Snowflake, Splunk, PowerBI, and Collibra is a plus.
• Experience with database-specific CICD tools.
