About the position

The Snowflake Developer with Python Scripting at DTCC is responsible for assisting in the technical design and development of database applications, focusing on data architecture and management. This role involves collaborating with various teams to create efficient data models and solutions that enhance data usability within the organization. The position requires expertise in database technologies, programming, and operational support for production applications, contributing to the overall success of DTCC's mission in the financial markets.

Responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize business use cases and develop reusable data models, dashboards, or other data assets.
• Build solutions that improve the efficiency of data users across the organization.
• Define and refine RDS data architecture for OLTP, data warehousing, and business analytics solutions.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on programming languages, vendor products, and database technologies such as Oracle and Snowflake.
• Program and optimize database objects including Tables, Views, Stored Procedures, and Functions.
• Operationalize PERL, Python, and Shell scripts for various processes and job executions.
• Provide level 3 support for multiple production applications and triage operational issues.
• Support multiple production application releases and maintenance during off-peak hours.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure partners to establish development, testing, and production environments.
• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for implementation across RDS Trade Repositories.
• Align risk and control processes into daily responsibilities to mitigate risk.

Requirements

• 4+ years' experience in Database Development or System Analysis.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical/computer field or related experience.
• Deep expertise in data management, architecture, metadata management, integration, governance, modeling, transport, quality, and master data management.
• Solid understanding of agile development methodologies.
• Proven expertise in scripting languages such as PERL, Python, and Shell.
• Solid understanding of distributed and cloud-based data technologies and analytics tools.
• Specific knowledge of Oracle, Snowflake, Splunk, PowerBI, and Collibra is a plus.
• Experience with database-specific CICD tools.
• Up-to-date knowledge of technology and architecture marketplace.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
