About the position

As part of a global IT team, the Snowflake Developer position provides technical support and development expertise for Data Warehouse technologies, including but not limited to Snowflake, SQL, Azure, HANA, and other on-premise and cloud environments within the Global Trading portfolio. The role involves developing or enhancing visualizations, reporting, data models, data integration, and ETL activities. Additionally, the developer will support and troubleshoot existing data warehouse products, as well as maintain these systems through service packs and version updates. The Snowflake Developer will execute demos, projects, and proof of concepts in development or technical design. Collaboration is key in this role, as the developer will work closely with project teams, business customers, and other support partners to gather requirements and deliver solutions. The deliverables will be determined based on business priorities and improvement proposals from the Trading Teams. The position also requires interaction with the Middle-office on Energy Trading Risk Management (ETRM) issues and collaboration with other delivery teams for fortification, scaling, and sustainment projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and development expertise for Data Warehouse technologies including Snowflake, SQL, Azure, and HANA.
• Develop or enhance visualizations, reporting, data models, data integration, and ETL activities.
• Support and troubleshoot existing data warehouse products and perform maintenance activities such as service packs and version updates.
• Execute demos, projects, and proof of concepts in development or technical design.
• Collaborate with project teams, business customers, and other support partners in solution ideation, requirements gathering, and product delivery.
• Interact with Middle-office on Energy Trading Risk Management (ETRM) issues and collaborate with other delivery teams for fortification, scaling, and sustainment projects.

Requirements

• Strong technical competencies in Snowflake and SQL, including stored procedures and data management.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, Java, .NET, Python, and JS.
• Experience in data modeling and visualization techniques, particularly with Power BI.
• Familiarity with Airflow for scheduled jobs, Python, containers, and OpenShift.
• Knowledge of API connectivity and security aspects such as SSO.
• Ability to connect Azure and on-premise environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with proficiency in English.
• Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to offer thoughtful input toward problem resolution.
• Ability to translate business processes into data requirements.

Nice-to-haves

• Comprehension of trading applications related to data-centric architecture and solutions.
• Working knowledge of Energy Trading Risk Management (ETRM) systems.
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban.
• Ability to manage workload under time pressure and changing priorities.
• Knowledge of the business application product lifecycle including design, implementation, and change management.
