About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Snowflake Developer to join our team in the financial sector, specifically focusing on Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC). This role is crucial in ensuring our data solutions align with industry regulations and support our GRC initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Snowflake, data warehousing, and financial data management, combined with a strong understanding of GRC principles and experience with the Azure cloud stack. In this position, you will design, develop, and implement Snowflake data solutions to support GRC requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring alignment with GRC standards and objectives. Your responsibilities will include developing and optimizing ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading into Snowflake using Azure Data Factory and Databricks. You will also create and maintain data models, ensuring data integrity and consistency, and implement data security measures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices. Monitoring and troubleshooting performance issues within Snowflake will be part of your daily tasks, ensuring optimal performance. You will provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing. Staying updated with the latest trends and advancements in Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and GRC will be essential to continuously improve our data solutions. Additionally, you will work closely with the compliance team to ensure all data processes meet regulatory requirements and document technical solutions, processes, and data architectures for reference and compliance purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement Snowflake data solutions to support GRC requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering and data warehousing.
  • 5+ years of experience working with Snowflake, including designing and implementing data solutions.
  • 2+ years of experience in the financial sector, with a focus on GRC.
  • 3+ years of experience with the Azure cloud stack, including Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
  • Strong understanding of GRC principles and how they apply to data management.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with ETL tools (e.g., Talend, Informatica).
  • Experience with data modeling and data architecture principles.
  • Familiarity with data security and regulatory compliance requirements in the financial sector.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
