About the position

The Lead Data Engineer (Snowflake) position at Saama involves leading data engineering efforts with a focus on data analytics and reporting. The role requires strong management skills and a solutions-oriented mindset to support pharmaceutical and biotech companies in achieving transformative business outcomes. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and building data extraction, transformation, and loading processes, while also managing teams in an onshore-offshore model.

Responsibilities

• Lead data engineering initiatives with a focus on data analytics and reporting.
• Design and build data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
• Write custom data pipelines using ETL tools or Snowflake procedures.
• Manage teams in an onshore-offshore model.
• Perform statistical analysis and troubleshooting in Snowflake.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or related discipline.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in software development, preferably in Data, Analytics, Information Management platforms.
• Strong experience in SQL, data transformations, and statistical analysis.
• Experience in data engineering with an emphasis on data analytics and reporting.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and SQL.
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure.
• Snowflake certification is a plus.
