About the position

The Snowflake Migration Data Architect is responsible for leading the migration of databases to the Snowflake platform. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing data migration strategies to ensure seamless transitions with minimal disruption. The architect will work closely with customers and internal teams to develop tailored migration plans and provide technical leadership throughout the implementation process.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive migration plans tailored to customer needs, ensuring a smooth transition from on-premises database environments to Snowflake.
• Act as the technical expert for all aspects of Snowflake during implementation, guiding customers through the migration process.
• Design and optimize Snowflake's logical, conceptual, and physical data models.
• Implement performance tuning and database optimization techniques to ensure efficient data processing.
• Work closely with customers, system integrators, and internal teams to understand requirements and deliver robust solutions.
• Create detailed documentation and presentations to share learnings and best practices.
• Collaborate with all stakeholders & lead the migration solution.

Requirements

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in data management solutions, with hands-on experience in migrating databases.
• Proficiency in SQL, Unix Shell/Python scripting, and performance tuning.
• Experience with AWS/Azure and Snowflake's features like RBAC controls, scalable virtual warehouses, and cost optimization.
• Experience designing and building automated monitoring processes and data pipelines.
• Experience developing stored procedures and writing queries to analyze and transform data.
