About the position
The Snowsports Instructor Apprentice position at Taos Ski Valley is designed for individuals looking to gain experience in teaching skiing and snowboarding. As an apprentice, you will work closely with professional instructors to provide exceptional guest experiences while promoting a love for snowsports. This role emphasizes teamwork, communication, and a commitment to safety and guest satisfaction in a dynamic alpine environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist instructors with coaching, teaching, and guiding guests of various ages and abilities.
- Provide excellent customer service to enhance the guest experience at Taos Ski Valley.
- Communicate relevant information enthusiastically to guests.
- Act as a public relations representative for Taos Ski Valley.
- Greet guests in a friendly and respectful manner.
- Listen to guest needs and relay messages to management.
- Seek ways to improve guest service and overall experience.
- Attend all scheduled workdays reliably.
- Participate in teamwork essential for the success of the Snowsports School.
- Assist with daily operations outside of lesson times, including boot fitting and snow removal.
- Complete indoor and outdoor tasks before and after lessons as needed.
- Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude with co-workers.
Requirements
- Ability to assist in instructing group and special program lessons of varying abilities.
- Must demonstrate skiing/snowboarding skills at a minimum intermediate level.
- Ability to maintain personal and guest safety as a top priority.
- Strong commitment to Taos Ski Valley's Vision, Purpose, and Values.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with children ages 3 to 13.
- Previous customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
