About the position

National Grid is seeking a Senior Project Manager for Project Management in Waltham, MA. This hybrid role involves managing a large portfolio of complex gas projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget while mitigating risks. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to deliver safe and reliable natural gas to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a large portfolio of multiple gas complex capital projects in the New England territory from inception through construction and closeout.
  • Oversee gas distribution and transmission pipeline projects, including new facilities, major additions, replacements, and retrofit projects.
  • Drive efficiencies across projects for on-schedule, on-budget delivery in alignment with company values, safety objectives, and quality standards.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and efficient resource utilization throughout the organization.
  • Negotiate and execute contracts and change orders with design teams, contractors, and others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is desirable.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, construction management, or relevant utility operations; successful delivery of complex projects preferred.
  • Knowledge of gas system operations, gas industry codes and regulations, and construction is desired.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, construction management, interpersonal, and written communication skills are essential.
  • Experience with PowerBI or similar tools to create visual dashboards is preferred; proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • Experience with environmental and engineering economics is a plus.
