About the position

The SoC Architect position at AMD focuses on leading architecture teams within the Network Technology Solutions Group (NTSG). The role emphasizes the importance of System Architecture, product roadmaps, and requirements, with a strong focus on Power, Performance, and Area. The architect will collaborate with various teams to ensure alignment across hardware and software components, driving technical specifications and solutions to meet product requirements.

Responsibilities

• Define product features and capabilities, close architecture, and micro-architecture requirements.
• Drive technical specifications for SoC and IP blocks to meet requirements and provide technical direction to execution teams.
• Comprehend the SoC as a complete system including HW, FW, BIOS & SW, ensuring alignment for performance and power optimization.
• Work cross-functionally with IP/Domain architects to identify and assess complex technical issues and develop architectural solutions.
• Contribute to Platform & System Architecture through knowledge sharing and other contributions.
• Act as the overall product owner responsible for architecture analysis and technical solutions for marketing/feature change requests.
• Collaborate closely with Design teams for Area and Floorplan refinement, Verification Test plan reviews, Timing targets, and Performance/Power Verification sign-offs.
• Support Post-Si teams for Product Performance, Power, and functional issues debug/resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related discipline.
• Outstanding foundation in Systems & SoC architecture, with expertise in CPU or GPU, Memory sub-system, Fabrics, and more.
• Experience analyzing CPU, GPU or System-level Micro-Architectural features to identify performance bottlenecks.
• Demonstrated expertise in power management microarchitecture and low power design.
• Excellent communication, management, and presentation skills.
