About the position

The SoC Hardware (Digital, Analog or PnP) Validation Engineer will be part of the Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) team, responsible for validating custom silicon designs that power various online services. This role focuses on post-silicon validation, ensuring high-quality performance and efficiency in cloud infrastructure. The engineer will work on functional, electrical, and power/performance aspects of silicon validation, contributing to the development of innovative solutions that enhance cloud services.

Responsibilities

  • Own post-silicon validation of functional, electrical, or power/performance areas.
  • Define, guide, and contribute to the implementation of silicon debug tools and capabilities.
  • Become proficient in the overall architecture and implementation of complex features and protocols.
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to other engineers.
  • Develop validation strategy, requirements, environment, tools, and methodologies.
  • Write test plans and implement them by developing test content, scripts, and other validation collateral.
  • Execute content in post-silicon, triage, and debug failures.
  • Engage with partners to drive continuous improvement in design and validation methodologies.
  • Collaborate with architects, logic designers, verification engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 4+ years of technical engineering experience.
  • Applied understanding of Computer Architecture and CPU/SoC validation principles.
  • Experience writing scripts/software in industry-standard languages like Python or C/C++.
  • Ability to meet customer and/or government security screening requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
  • Experience in verification, logic development, validation, or validation tools in CPU, SoC, or IP development teams.
  • Leadership skills and demonstrated validation expertise in functional, electrical, or power/performance validation.
  • Experience with automation, content creation, or tool/script development.
  • Understanding of board-level schematics and system-level software/firmware.
