About the position

As an ML SW Engineer on the Cellular FW team at Apple, you will play a crucial role in advancing the capabilities of wireless systems through the development and implementation of AI/ML models. This position focuses on enhancing cellular firmware development for 6G/5G/4G/multimode technologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve product performance and customer experience. Your work will directly impact all Apple products, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in wireless technology.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy innovative ML models on Apple Silicons, focusing on Cellular Modem algorithms and usage scenarios.
• Research, evaluate, design, and implement deep learning and Gen AI architectures to enhance model performance.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams across Apple to drive innovation and improve product experience.

Requirements

• Minimum BS with 3+ years of proven experience in machine learning and software engineering.
• Hands-on experience in building, training, and deploying deep learning models, including LSTM, CNN, RNN, and transformers.
• Practical experience applying ML/AI methods to real-world data analysis and usage scenarios.
• Proficiency in Python and C/C++ with knowledge of software engineering principles and core computer science fundamentals.
• Experience in building architectures and incorporating state-of-the-art LLMs into application frameworks.

Nice-to-haves

• MS or Ph.D. in a relevant field.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., Postgres), SQL, non-relational databases (e.g., MongoDB), and vector databases.
• Experience using analytics and statistical methods for feature extraction and data transformation.
• Embedded and HW/SW integration experience.
